Makeovers are a staple of many romantic comedies and coming of age movies, with men and women alike getting their hair, face, clothing, teeth, and other aspects of themselves changed, whether to look more attractive, become a better version of their self, or to prove a point. Getting a makeover is not just for the movies though; people everywhere are constantly working on ways to improve their image, even if it’s simply changing one aspect at a time, rather than making over your entire self. Fortunately for the average, non-movie star, there are many ways to revamp your image, from getting new teeth in a day to getting a new haircut to updating your wardrobe.
Fashion
Perhaps the easiest way for you to revamp yourself and feel like a brand new man or woman is to add a few new fashionable pieces to your wardrobe. For the less fashionable of us out there, this can seem like a daunting task; however, you can browse through a fashion magazine, such as Glamour or GQ, get the advice of that friend whose style you’ve always envied, or talk with a consultant at a store, like Nordstrom or Saks. These resources and people can give you ideas for a couple of pieces of clothing or accessories that can completely update your style or even lead you directly to that dress, suit, scarf, or other piece of clothing that makes you feel like a new person!
Style
Another way to makeover your look is to get a new, fashionable haircut. Leading fashion icons and industry experts have said that deep side parts, fringe or bangs, and sleek long hair are going to be the trendy styles of 2013 for women, whereas short waves or curls, side parts, and the undercut are predicted to be the men’s hairstyles for 2013. Find a local hair salon where you can talk with a stylist about how to make these upcoming trends work for you. Even if you’re trying to cut back on spending, you can get a new haircut for less by finding beauty schools and salons with stylists in training that typically offer haircuts for less.
Other Alternatives
If getting a wardrobe or hair makeover aren’t exactly what you’re looking for in a makeover, then perhaps working on your facial features is the way to go. Maybe Botox or other wrinkle removing procedures and products are just what you need or seemingly getting new teeth in a day, whether through dentures, whitening, or another process, is the best way to revamp your image.
Whether a small change or a major one, making over your image can help you start off 2013 happier and more at ease with yourself.
